The Walldürn district of Altheim is still regarded as the green spelt metropolis of the Bauland. A small green spelt museum has also been set up here.

The Walldürn district of Altheim is still regarded as the green spelt metropolis of the Bauland. With its listed "Darrenstraße", it preserves valuable witnesses of rural cultural heritage and is a stop on the "Odenwald Farmhouse Museum Route".

Since 2001, a small museum has been set up in one of the 13 Darr houses lined up along the green spelt cycle path towards Sindolsheim, offering the opportunity to learn about the development of green spelt during the famine years of the 19th century, about sowing, harvesting, equipment and marketing.

Display boards and a slide show on the topics of farmland, spelt, green spelt and kilning give visitors an insight into this typical regional industry.
