Erfatal Museum

Schlossplatz 6, 74736 Hardheim

The award-winning Erfatal Museum is one of the largest museums of local history in the Odenwald.

The Erfatal Museum Hardheim is housed in a tithe storehouse built in 1683. The museum presents exhibits in five sections.

The tour begins with the history of Hardheim and continues with a section on trades, agriculture and a section on life history.

Special features of the museum include dinosaur tracks from the Odenwald, a historic pharmacy and a fully reconstructed dance hall.

The section on space and space travel is dedicated to Walter Hohmann , the famous son of Hardheim.

Tip: A scale model of an Ariane 5 launcher at the entrance to Hardheim and the observatory on the Scherenberg also commemorate Walter Hohmann.

The museum is currently being renovated and is closed until further notice.

Guided tours are available on request.
