Knowledge to amaze

The world is full of questions and experimenta in Heilbronn invites you to find out the answers for yourself. What does it feel like in the eye of the storm? How does the sense of time work? And does bread really always end up on the buttery side? In Germany‘s largest science center, everyone from three to 103 years old can get to the bottom of things in a playful way.

At 275 hands-on stations, visitors can experience science and technology with all their senses. Whether flying through the air on a paraglider in the air course or testing your own reflexes on the thrust machine - touching and trying things out is expressly encouraged in the four themed worlds. This is how you get to know yourself and the world better.

The exhibition is as extraordinary as the futuristic building itself. One highlight is the Science Dome, a unique mixture of planetarium, cinema and theater. Under the 360-degree dome, the audience can immerse themselves in the infinity of space in 3D films or experience real lightning in a live show.

The voyage of discovery continues in the observatory on the roof of experimenta. Whether sunspots or gaseous eruptions on the surface of the sun - in good weather there is also plenty to marvel at during the day. 
Tip: Thanks to a special device on the telescope, the impressive images can be captured on a cell phone.

Since April 2024, the AI Pavilion, a separate exhibition on the forward-looking topic of artificial intelligence, has enriched the offer. Here, too, it‘s all about trying things out and being amazed. For example, playing "four wins" against the AI or writing poems with its help. The results are astounding.
