The history trail is a memorial trail laid out as a circular hiking trail. It connects the above-ground remains of the former "Goldfisch" underground aircraft engine factory.

The innocuous-sounding camouflage name concealed the second largest armaments relocation project of the Third Reich in 1944/45. 10,000 concentration camp prisoners and forced laborers toiled under miserable conditions for Daimler-Benz and the war industry. The factory was relocated from Genshagen near Berlin to the bomb-proof gypsum mine in Obrigheim.

People from over 25 European nations lived in the region at the time. The trail leads along the western slope of the Neckar in 10 stations and explains the history using the remains of buildings. The heart of the trail is a large stairway with 100 steps and an elevation gain of 40 meters. Two branch paths lead briefly off the circular route.

You drive from Obrigheim in the direction of Haßmersheim. Turn right at the old curtain factory (bus stop), drive under the bypass (towards Mosbach), do not take the expressway, but turn right shortly before, straight on up into the forest.
