Hike to the four castles and back.

The Geopark entrance portal on the Neckar is the starting point of the tour. The narrow path leads you into the town area. From here you can already see the first, still inhabited "Vorderburg" castle, built at the beginning of the 13th century. Immediately next to it is the somewhat younger "Mittelburg".

The Schlosssteige leads into a hiking trail, the Burgensteig, which leads directly to the Hinterburg ruins. The Hinterburg was built around 1100 and is freely accessible to visitors. A cul-de-sac takes you to the youngest of the four castles, the "Schadeck Castle Ruins", also known as the Swallow‘s Nest due to its location.

Back at the Hinterburg, follow the path downhill, cross the B37 at the traffic lights and follow the hiking trail directly along the Neckar to the starting point.
