Experience the home of green spelt by bike - you can do this on this cycle route. The green spelt cycle path runs through the Tauber Valley, Odenwald, Hohenlohe and HeilbronnerLand. Along the way, you will discover numerous traces and evidence of former green spelt production.

"Experience the home of green spelt on a bike" - this promises enjoyment in two senses. Cycle through the Odenwald, the lovely Tauber Valley, Hohenlohe and HeilbronnerLand on the Grünkern cycle path. The cycle path stretches over more than 100 kilometers and is perfectly integrated into the existing cycle path network of these vacation regions.

Thanks to the connection to the Odenwald-Madonnen Cycle Path, the Main-Tauber-Franconian Cycle Eight, the Kocher-Jagst Cycle Path, the 3-Country Cycle Path, the Limes Cycle Path and the Kirnautal, Kessachtal and Sculpture Cycle Path, you have excellent combination options. So you can discover the vacation landscapes by bike to your heart‘s content.

The name says it all: along the route you will come across numerous examples of former green spelt production. And the annual green spelt festivals are known far beyond the region.

Route description:
Your tour starts at the Odenwald Open-Air Museum in Walldürn-Gottersdorf. From there, follow the "Grünkernradweg" signs via Gerolzahn and Neusaß to Walldürn. The route continues past the green spelt kilns in Altheim via Sindolsheim, Rosenberg, Ravenstein and Ober- and Unterkessach to Widdern.

Cycling tip:
Visit the Odenwald Open-Air Museum in Walldürn-Gottersdorf with its green spelt kilns in an idyllic location by the lake. A special highlight: the annual green spelt festival on the third weekend in July.
