The Main-Tauber-Franconian Cycle Eight connects the Odenwald with the lovely Tauber Valley - and you are right in the middle of it!

From Rosenberg, you cycle through the idyllic Kirnau valley to Osterburken. There you can discover the impressive remains of the walls of the Limes fort, the Limes Park and the Roman Museum. The route continues via Bofsheim to Eberstadt, where a real natural wonder awaits you: the Eberstadt stalactite cave.

To the north of Eberstadt, on the eastern edge of the Odenwald, lies the town of Buchen - the heart of the so-called "Madonnenländchen". The name comes from the many Madonna figures and small religious monuments that you can discover on houses and paths.

You continue through the Morretal valley, which is a protected landscape, directly to Hettigenbeuern.

Cycling tip:
If you fancy an alternative route, you can also cycle from Buchen via Walldürn to Miltenberg am Main. This 21 km detour takes you to Walldürn - the largest Eucharistic pilgrimage town in Germany. A worthwhile route with spiritual flair!
