The Katzensteig trail takes you over the highest elevation in the Odenwald, the Katzenbuckel, from Eberbach to Neckargerach and vice versa. The route is 26.5 km long and the difference in altitude is approx. 950 m.

The Katzensteig is a challenging and varied hiking trail with numerous scenic and cultural attractions. Far-reaching views over the Winterhauch plateau, quiet forest paths, crisp climbs and the romantic Höllgrund are waiting for you.

The fantastic panoramic view from the 18-metre-high viewing tower on the Katzenbuckel will remain unforgettable. The Turmschenke on the Katzenbuckel and the Holznersmühle in the Höllgrund invite you to stop for a bite to eat and linger.

The nearby villages of the Winterhauch, around which the Katzensteig trail leads, also tempt you with culinary delights and numerous accommodation options.
