Katzenbuckel tower

Katzenbuckelstraße 28, 69429 Waldbrunn

At 626 meters, the Katzenbuckel is the highest mountain in the Odenwald. The fantastic panoramic view of the entire Odenwald from the 20-metre-high observation tower is unforgettable.

The "Path of Crystals" is the name of a geological nature trail that explains how the Katzenbuckel was formed from an extinct volcano. It leads from the former quarry at Katzenbuckelsee lake up to the mountain peak and ends at the viewing tower. The Katzensteig trail, which starts in Eberbach am Neckar, also leads to the highest elevation in the Odenwald and is a challenging and varied hiking trail with numerous scenic and cultural sights. Wide-ranging views over the Winterhauch plateau, quiet forest paths, crisp climbs and the romantic Höllgrund invite the hiker. After climbing the Katzenbuckel, the "Villa Katzenbuckel" restaurant at the bottom invites you to stop for a bite to eat.

Freely accessible.
