From the beautiful little town of Mosbach, whose historic old town you should definitely take a tour of, the route takes you along the former route of the "Odenwaldexpress" - a narrow-gauge railroad - to Mudau.

A smoking, hissing steam locomotive used to run on this line, announcing itself at danger points by ringing a bell. This gave the train the affectionate nickname "Bembele". Because of its leisurely pace, people also called it the "duck killer".

Today, pure idyll and relaxation await you on this cycle path! Most of the tour runs through the forest - in the middle of beautiful nature, along the Elz and other small rivers in the Neckar system.

The route is particularly suitable for families: relaxed, varied and close to nature.

Cycling tip:
Along the way, you can still discover some old railroad stations and railroad line facilities. A real highlight is the original steam locomotive (99 7202) in Mudau. Also worth seeing: the Elzpark in Mosbach on the former site of the State Garden Show - with a great water playground for children.
